Speciality & Emerging Markets Monitoring
Your Responsibilities:
Specialty & Emerging Markets Monitoring (SEMM) is one of six business units within Philips’ Healthcare Informatics & Patient Monitoring business group. SEMM is focused on providing innovative, affordable, easy to use patient monitoring solutions for global price sensitive and specialty markets. Our primary mission is to make available to large populations high quality patient monitoring solutions at an affordable price.
SEMM is comprised of four distinct, but related, businesses: SureSigns Monitoring (based in Andover, MA), Invivo MR Monitoring (based in Orlando, FL), Shenzhen Goldway Industrial (based in Shenzhen, China), and Dixtal Biomedica (based in Sao Paulo, Brazil). Within SEMM, there are two Marketing Directors. The first focuses on directly managing the marketing function of SureSigns Monitoring and providing oversight of marketing to Specialty Markets. The second focuses on managing/overseeing the marketing functions of our Emerging Market activities, especially for Goldway and Dixtal. The current opening is for the Director of Marketing position for SureSigns and Specialty Markets.
The Marketing Director for SureSigns and Specialty Markets is responsible for assessment of existing and potential markets, product life cycle planning, development of product strategies, definition of promotional activities and product launch, and provision of support engineering. These markets for price sensitive and innovative solutions may be in both developed and emerging markets. Activities include developing market requirements, participating in the development of global go-to-market and business strategies, participation in channel planning, and ensuring the timely release and introduction of new products.
The Marketing Director manages a variety of functions within the organization as well as selecting and developing talent. He or she interacts directly with all key functions of the business unit, other business units, and GSS counterparts, and maintains close contact with end-user customers. Challenges include coordinating global marketing strategies across cultures and geographies, working in a highly price sensitive market, understanding global customer needs, motivating a diverse workforce, and successfully achieving goals through leading others.
Key Areas of Responsibility • Lead global marketing activities for the SureSigns product line, driving development of marketing plans, product strategies, and programs to deliver profitable business growth. • Understand global customer and market needs and align requirements with product development plans • Analyze market segmentation and competitive environment, and partner with R&D, Finance, and Supply Chain • Identify opportunities and develop product plans to strengthen position of SureSigns (and other S&EM products) in global markets. • Manage a team of direct reports in product marketing, support engineering, and learning products. Coach and mentor. • Participate in the development of the overall S&EM global product and go-to-market strategy • Provide oversight for the marketing activities of Invivo MR Monitoring on a dotted-line basis • Member of HI/PM Marketing Council
Your Profile:
• 7-10 years of Marketing experience • BA/BS or equivalent in Marketing management; MBA preferred • Previous experience in healthcare, preferably with medical devices • Strong understanding of the clinical environment • Proven leadership ability, including management of various marketing functions • Proven ability to foster close and collaborative relationships with R&D colleagues • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • Desire and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally • 10 plus years in marketing, in increasingly more complex roles • Ability to work in a matrix organization • Understanding of the IT environment within clinical settings preferable
