Position Description
We are seeking experienced Field Engineers for our Ottawa District. These positions will be responsible for RFI processing, shop drawing review, submittals, scheduling, administration, change order pricing and related support functions. Based in the field, the Field Engineer assists the Superintendent and/or Project Manager in producing, providing and coordinating all information necessary for the smooth running of the project.
A college degree in construction management or civil engineering is required. 1-2 years experience is preferred. Salary is commensurate with experience.
Position Requirements
Responsibilities essential to this position include:
- Assisting in implementing and monitoring the quality control, safety and environment programs. - Quantity surveying, quantity review and system input. - Coordinating of field details, site inspections and liaising with field subcontractors/consultants. - Scheduling. - Filing system set-up and maintenance, establishing/maintaining/ monitoring document control logs (i.e. RFIs, shop drawings). - Assisting in preparation of labor reports and cost reports. - Coordinating and assisting with information distribution to subcontractors and own forces (assisting with shop drawing review). - Coordinating inspection duties and assisting in formwork design, preparing layout and lift drawings (field engineer).
