Construction Operations Trainer

Position Requirements
As the Construction Operations Trainer, you will contribute to a variety of in-house construction-related training programs and learning communities.  Your primary responsibilities include the design and development of training programs and materials for both face-to-face and on-line delivery.   Working with regional trainers in PCL’s districts across North America, you will work to update construction fundamentals and advanced programs.  

Other responsibilities associated with the role of Construction Operations Trainer include:


  • Updates to the business manuals
  • Reinforce and improve the use of PCL’s intranet as a central source of documentation, self-directed learning resources and the hub of PCL knowledge networks
  • Creation and maintenance of bulletins, technical manuals and tutorials
  • Gathering and documentation of training requirements.
  • Optimizing the interaction and contribution of PCL’s communities of practice


Characteristics required for success in this position are strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple on-going priorities. Experience in engineering and/or the construction industry is essential.  A background in corporate training and/or adult education is considered an asset.
