The regional marketing department supports the marketing, sales and design-in of the HPMS and Standard Products in EMEA. It takes product-focused initiatives as well as more solution/application initiatives, focusing at offering full NXP solutions.
The Product Application Engineer is responsible for level one technical applications support in designing NXP’s products into the customer’s end equipment for assigned Applications and Market Segments. Supports the Field Applications Engineer (FAE) as the main technical interface to the Market Segment Accounts based on a particular product and/or application expertise. Provides feedback on the customer’s application and technology requirements and the competitive activity at assigned accounts. The PAE will be closely linked with the Business Lines that support their product area and, where applicable, Market Segment. PAE will provide feedback and direction to company roadmaps and technology developments.
The Product Application Engineer Microcontrollers is a member of the European MCU marketing team and reports to the European MCU product marketing engineer
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
·Develop a close working relationship with the Account Manager/FAE and assigned account(s) who need in depth technical expertise
·Work with the customer’s design centers to get NXP microcontrollers designed in
·Provide the customer with in depth technical design assistance
·Support the Field Applications Engineers (FAEs) in product training programs for the field teams and distribution
·Support trade shows and technical society meetings
·Support identified business opportunities for assigned product area with our defined Focus accounts
·Take full responsibility for ensuring the FAEs, FSE and customer receives all the support needed to meet his application design in requirements.
·Support customization of demo boards for our products to show the customer the best performance in their specific application.
·Take custom measurements on our devices to demonstrate that our products will meet the customer’s specifications and conditions.
·Align our roadmap with customer’s roadmap and work with our internal organization to ensure we will develop the right future products for our Focus Accounts.
·Competitive Awareness. Must be fully aware of our competitor’s technical advantages and disadvantages so we can formulate the correct opportunity strategies.
·Must have strong communication and presentation skills to drive communication with relevant stake holders
·Must have Ability to perform lab characterization & problem solving
·Knowledge and Use of simulation tools for circuit design
·Work with regional Product Marketing to develop roadmaps, competitive analysis, presentation material, and identify relevant markets
PRIMARY TASKS
Design-in
·Design-in the ARM 32-bit microcontroller offering, at targeted customers working closely together with relevant NXP FAEs, account teams and the business line organization.
·Deliver on yearly design win targets at selected customers & report on progress
Definition of application critical product features for new product development
·Based on a understanding of the customers business, identify and define future product features that would serve as unique selling points.
·Develop and maintain close relationships with customer design engineers. Develop a deep insight into target customers current and future systems and keep an up-to-date picture of competitive products and technologies.
·Deliver well-documented specifications of application critical product features to our product development teams.
Promotion & support
·Support the promotion of NXP unique selling points by delivering technical presentations and trainings, demos, ref designs and application notes.
·Support customers in their overall hardware and software development and educate them on how to use the NXP/MMS portfolio.
BSEE. MSEE preferred. Minimum 5 years experience in design engineering and field application engineering. Preferably related work experience at a customer within the segment of lighting or industrial automation.
Both software and hardware skills related to ARM Based microcontrollers
