Position Summary:
The Nurse Navigator will serve as a patient liaison to help patients and family members "navigate" the complex healthcare systems. The person in this position will work with a multidisciplinary team providing improved comprehensive oncology services to patients. This position requires advanced practice expertise to identify and implement improvement processes, and the ability to design, direct and implement teaching plans. Internal and external contacts include nursing staff and management, physicians, patients, families, community agencies, and professional peers.
Minimum Requirements:
Oncology background required with a minimum of 5 years experience in nursing. OCN preferred
Education/Licenses/Certifications:
BSN required, MSN preferred. Current WA State RN License. Current CPR Certification.
Additional Information
Experience with oncology standards of care, current treatment and skill the integration of that knowledge into the delivery of care.
Skilled in written and verbal communication; able to communicate effectively with various levels.
Works well with groups,
Able to deal with ambiguity,
Flexible, maintains positive, problem solving perspective in approaching issues.
