Position Summary:
The Peri-Natal Clinical Educator is responsible for needs assessment, analysis, planning, implementation and evaluation of orientation, education, and staff development activities for clinical staff of patient care units across all shifts.  This position works collaboratively with unit management, physicians, and staff to define, coordinate, and analyze the orientation and continuing educational needs and activities for all staff members of the patient care units to assure a foundation of competency for patient care and nursing practice.  Planning, designing, coordinating, and evaluating skills are utilized in the review and development of relevant orientation and education programs and activities.  This position requires the ability to motivate all skill levels of staff with creative and adult learning methods and to integrate team building and caring actions into all learning models.  Major decisions are subject to the review and approval of the Clinical Director.  
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum three years nursing experience with at least two years in clinical specialty area.  Minimum one year experience in educating/training of health care personnel.
Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Education, or appropriate field required, Master's preferred.  Certification in area of nursing specialty and/or certification in nursing staff development, and/or continuing education (ACLS/APLS highly recommended for critical care areas, NRCI highly recommended in Women/Newborn Services).
