Position Summary:
This individual (COTA) works under supervision of an Occupational Therapist; performs occupational therapy treatment procedures, modalities, and occupational training for the purpose of improving functional ability; confers with OT prior to beginning a treatment program regarding goals, plans of treatment, treatment procedures, modalities, and precautions; contacts the supervising OT when direct intervention is needed to change an occupational therapy treatment plan, or when medical problems exist that necessitate attention; provides recommendations for assistive devices and equipment as needed to improve function and independence at home; observes, records, and reports the patient's reaction to treatment and any changes in the patient's condition, preparing clinical progress notes in accordance with departmental policy.

Minimum Requirements:
One year experience in adult rehabilitative services preferred.

Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Associates Degree as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited OTA school, licensed as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in the State of Washington.
