The objective of the EMC Portfolio Management team is to maximize the value of our mobile device, accessory and software portfolio.  We are constantly looking to deliver end-to-end vertically-focused solutions that solve our customer’s business problems as well as improve their workplace efficiency and productivity.

We are hiring for the role of Product Planning Consultant/ Portfolio Planning Manager; responsible for the market, business and portfolio analysis across EMC product/solution portfolio.  This includes

Developing the product and portfolio strategy needed to support the company's overall goals.

Identify and analyze portfolio gaps, changing market dynamics and new product/solution opportunities, and develop strategic responses to competitors.  

Lead business case review and evaluation for new product/solutions, ensuring portfolio positioning and strategic alignment as well as validating business cases.

Collaborate with corporate leadership, business unit functional management, marketing, and finance along with regional colleagues to drive the business planning process.

Develop and maintain product/portfolio road-maps with a two-five year horizon.

10 - 15 years of increasing contributions in the high tech community.  

We're looking for a detail-oriented collaborative individual with experience and proven accomplishments in strategic, market or product planning and an established track record of increasing market share and profitability.

Demonstrated understanding of market segmentation, global market trend analysis, and customer feedback/market research tools to create profitable/ innovative products for an IT or high tech market.  Solid understanding of the structured product development and delivery process. Strong base of financial management concepts; including product line P&L, break even analysis, etc.

Strong influencing skills and a track record of establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all levels of management across senior executives, development, engineering, marketing, sales/ channel partners, and customers. International business, product management and/ or marketing experience would be an asset.  

Understanding of the enterprise mobility computing, channel structure and dynamics would also be an asset.

Education        Undergraduate Degree required – engineering/technical preferred
Master of Business Administration preferred, ideally with some focus in Product Development, Marketing, or Strategic Planning.
