The Payment Solutions Engineer (SE) helps design, communicate, and troubleshoot multi-component Mobile Point Of Sale (MPOS) and Mobile Payment (MPAY) solutions created by the Enterprise business. In addition to understanding the technical aspects, software and hardware components, security and payment components, and how these components interact, the SE must be able to clearly communicate with technical and non-technical people from management, product teams, Technical Architect (TA), and partner communities. External teams may request the time and expertise of the SE. In these cases the SE may be required to help with pre-sale assessment, configuration, installation, and post-sale debugging of complex customer or partner MPOS and MPAY solutions. As part of the Solutions Engineering Team, the SE will focus on a few specific solutions but also provide assistance to other team members according to their areas of technical expertise. The Solution Engineer will work closely with, and take direction from, the Solutions Architect, when needed.

•Provide technical leadership and vision for specific Enterprise solutions
•Analyze internal and external solutions in the context of certain markets or customers and be able to clearly articulate both high level overview and low level details
•Assist in creating 'preferred configurations' of both software and hardware components according to product management requirements
•Provide solution alternatives with identified benefits  and consequences, including proposed value-add features
•Understand and keep up with industry, payment, security and technology trends
•Assist in collecting requirements and provide leadership through organizing and communicating them
•Clarify needs versus wants (must-have vs nice-to-have)
•Conduct feature gap analysis of solution features against product or project roadmaps
•Set expectations based on feature roadmaps
•Create documentation around best practices and common issues for system configuration and operation
•Assist with creation of test plans and assessment of solution readiness
•Provide support for key customers, as required

This position may also be located in Holtsville, NY.

Knowledge of Enterprise hardware, preferably MSI or competitor (ruggedized computers, payment devices, POS, etc.). Hands-on expertise with a few of these
•Knowledge of Enterprise related embedded software operating systems (Android, Windows Mobile, Windows CE), system operating systems (Windows XP, 7, Android), web technologies (e.g., HTTP, HTML5, CSS), web services (e.g., SOAP, REST, and XML), and configuration of embedded software. Hands-on experience with a few of these
•Knowledge and experience programming in Java, C, C++, and other languages
•First-hand experience in one or more phases within product development process
•Strong interpersonal skills
•Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills
•Adjusts to changes in priorities and manages multiple threads effectively and in a timely manner
•Able to travel within region and globally if needed (10 – 25%)
•Proven ability to continually develop skills and knowledge
•Team player with ability to navigate organizational boundaries
•Strong leadership and influence skills
•Superior organizational and planning skills

The following skills are highly desired. Training is available on one or more of these areas, if required:
•Overall knowledge of MPOS and MPAY system architectures, payment backend processing flow, and settlement.
•Knowledge of Security Systems & Encryption Algorithms (FIPS140, TDES, AES, DUKPT, etc.).
•Knowledge of international standards bodies (ISO, ANSI).
•Knowledge of international payment security standards (PCI, EMV).
