CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER (CIO), SLOAN TECHNOLOGY SERVICES (STS), Sloan School of Management, to serve as the senior technology leader at Sloan, creating a cohesive, forward-thinking, and progressive technology environment. Will provide leadership in raising awareness of and implementing new technology across the school’s academic, administrative, and research units; ensure that technology enhances classroom learning; serve as chair of the newly formed Information Technology Advisory Group (ITAG) comprised of senior leaders from across MIT Sloan; provide leadership and vision in the development of information resource management strategies while controlling costs and risks; provide general management for STS operational units; foster a service organization with a culture focused on customer satisfaction; evaluate and implement new tools, systems, and services that balance the need for collaboration, innovation, security, and accessibility; define criteria for measuring and assessing the performance of the IT organization; and conceptualize, launch, and deliver multiple projects on time and within budget.
REQUIRED: a bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred); at least ten years of experience managing complex organizations; a strategic vision; keen focus on client service; and the ability to recruit, retain, and develop the highest caliber professionals. Seek a proven leader with significant technical competence and experience who has demonstrated progressive management responsibilities in a complex IT environment. Must possess exceptional oral and written communication, interpersonal relationship, and team-building skills. Familiarity with the use of technology to enhance classroom learning is a plus.
