SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER-ENGINEER, Facilities-Utilities, to use diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in the areas of power plant and utility distribution to manage a major renewal and expansion of the Institute’s Central Utility Plant. Will consult with various constituents on defining requirements; recommending options; developing project scope; and securing approvals with internal clients, government agencies, and consultants. Areas of responsibility include coordinating efforts with appropriate planning and design staff; identification of and coordination with federal, state and local regulators; providing oversight to general contractors/construction managers, engineers/architects, material suppliers and subcontractors on project deliverables. A high level of importance is placed on client inclusion and teamwork.
REQUIRED: bachelor's degree in engineering; minimum of ten years’ related engineering experience, utility and/or plant project management preferred; demonstrated ability to manage team of professionals in construction, engineering, and architecture disciplines to meet moderate to complex project deliverables; working knowledge of relevant Massachusetts' building codes and regulations; excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to navigate, diplomatically influence, and work effectively across many levels to negotiate and form alliances with peers on other project management teams; ability to manage work effectively with people from multiple disciplines, at different levels, and with varying degrees of technical knowledge. Experience with LTSAs and working with gas and electricity suppliers beneficial, as is experience in an academic or comparable environment. Registered PE in state of Massachusetts desirable.
