Narrative Description
Reporting to the Director Operations, the Assistant Director, Flight Operations will manage issues related to operational procedures in Flight Operations and leads industry experts in development of guidance material.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage issues related to Flight Operations regulations (ICAO, EASA, FAA etc.); Ensure timely and precise information regarding upcoming regulatory activities or new operational procedures; Liaise with key industry stakeholders including the IATA Flight Operations Group, IATA Task Forces, ICAO, Regulators, member airlines and the OEM's; Liaise with internal departments and external industry on flight operations matters; Develop the IATA position paper on flight operations aspects; Develop airline member information and guidance material; Represent IATA at industry meetings, expert sessions or workshops.
Qualifications and Skills
University degree; Min.10 years practical flying experience on transport category aircraft; Knowledge of airline industry, specifically with regard to flight operations techniques, procedures and regulations (ICAO, EASA, FAR etc.); Dynamic, proactive and self-motivated with a high level of drive, initiative and energy; Excellent leadership skills relevant within an international environment; Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high attention to detail and meeting strict deadlines; Excellent PC skills particularly with MS Office programmes (Word, Access, Excel, Power Point and Outlook); Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; additional language skills would be an asset.
