Narrative Description
Reporting to the General Counsel or Senior Legal Counsel, the incumbent will be responsible for providing a wide range of legal services mainly related to commercial activities.
Responsibilities
Providing legal advice to other departments and divisions, with an emphasis on the Marketing Division; Drafting, revising and clearing commercial agreements for IATA divisions; Assisting IATA staff in negotiating, including marketing agreements, agreements for the sale of products or services, licensing, marketing, training, development and hotel as well as project agreements; Conducting legal research on commercial and/or industry matters as requested by the General Counsel; Reviewing contracts and other legal documents developed by IATA staff, and assisting with industry related legal projects as necessary; Developing model agreements for IATA's day to day operations; Any other tasks as assigned by the General Counsel.
Qualifications and Skills
University degree in Law and current member of a recognized Bar Association (Postgraduate degree in business law would be an asset); Three to five years of experience in a law firm or as an in-house counsel with general commercial legal work; Emphasis on intellectual property law and international experience would be preferred; Proficient in English; any other language would be an asset; Excellent written and oral communication skills; Well organized and capable of working under pressure; Self-starter individual capable of working with little supervision as well as a team player; Client orientation and results driven.
