Market Risk Coordinator for Central Point of Contact (CPC) team

Two positions – One position is located in Southern Connecticut and the other in Manhattan.

INSTITUTIONAL OVERVIEW:
LCBO Relationship Management is responsible for the development and execution of an effective continuous risk-focused supervisory program for the largest, most complex banking organizations regulated by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.  This includes understanding the risk profile of the firm and helping to identify and communicate industry trends and institutional-specific areas of concerns.

We are looking for successful candidates to fill positions in LCBO Relationship Management that involve reviewing and assessing the U.S. operations of a large complex financial institution domiciled in Europe.  These institutions typically have offices in many countries and employ over 50,000 people each worldwide.  Major business lines include: securities products and financial advisory services, debt and equity underwriting, sales and trading, mergers and acquisitions, investment research, and correspondent and prime brokerage services.  These institutions maintain market leading positions in a number of differing products across three business division: investment banking, asset management and private banking.
Job Responsibilities
  • Contribute to financial stability initiatives in collaboration with other areas of the Bank, focusing on assessing financial system risks, influencing risk management practices, and ensuring that these efforts are integrated with our ongoing supervisory work.  
  • Assess the capital markets activities and market risk measurement and management practices of large, complex financial institutions.  
  • Develop risk assessments and supervisory strategies pertaining to market risk measurement and management.  
  • Monitor market trends and developments in the financial services sector.  
  • Produce regular monitoring reports tracking key business developments and changes to an supervised institution’s risk strategy and profile.  
  • Lead and/or contribute to on-site examinations of market risk and related topics (e.g. product control/valuation practices, model validation reviews, etc….).
  • Foster relationships and information sharing with other supervisory agencies and home country regulators.
Job Requirements
  • In-depth knowledge or relevant work experience in some of the following disciplines: rates, foreign exchange, credit fixed income, equities, mortgages, and/or commodities.
  • Master’s degree or equivalent work experience in Finance, Accounting or Economics a plus.
  • Prior work experience in market risk measurement and management or Product Control.
  • Internal Audit experience in capital markets and market/credit risk measurement and management would also be considered.  
  • Quantitative work experience is desirable.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.  
  • Travel is required.
