Position Description
Oversees market analytics team projects. Designs and leads local market planning and analysis. Leverages customer information such as transactional and behavioral data, demographic and attitudinal overlays, and primary and secondary research to make business decisions regarding product development, marketing investments, competitive intelligence and other functional areas. Leads a multitudes of diverse projects ranging from Local Market Planning, Agency and Customer Segmentation to deriving actionable rules for trigger based marketing campaigns. Stays informed on the latest developments, techniques, tools and processes in customer and direct marketing. Understands the interplay between survey-based attitudinal data and customer transaction data captured at point-of-sale. Serves as the subject matter expert in marketing analytics. Familiar with best practices on statistical methods, technology and their application in customer marketing in an exclusive channel environment. Stays informed on the latest techniques/developments in database marketing.
Position Requirements
Leads the marketing analytics team by overseeing projects, providing feedback and insight on assignments and assisting with material analysis as needed.
Directs, designs, leads and implements local market planning development, analysis and execution.
Performs competitive intelligence research and analysis leveraging internal and external data.
Represents the VP of Commercial Lines Finance and Strategy in department meetings and commercial management team meetings as needed.
Leads design, development and implementation of Customer Relations Management tool for commercial lines.
Leads development and implementation of predictive analytics for marketing, pre-selection and pre-qualification of leads.
Guides development of models to optimize marketing.
Partners with marketing and planning to support strategic initiatives and the impact of customer marketing.
Understands and secures collaboration on the use of database analysis for devising business strategy.
Develops and determines ways to maximize the use of centralized customer database for developing business strategy and improving operational efficiency.
Manages a team of professionals that deliver actionable program measurement and drive marketing tactics and strategy through data analytics.
Collaborates with senior executives and managers to understand/prioritize analytical needs, to deliver solutions and to drive implementation.
Builds and enhances processes that provide systematic measurement of Marketing initiatives.
Develops actionable measurement of marketing programs that drive follow-up strategy and tactics.
Provides quantitative analyses and statistical modeling that impact strategic decision-making.
Performs other functions as assigned.

Description Summary The ideal candidate will possess experience working in a fast-paced Business Intelligence environment on medium to large-scale projects, and is a self-motivated team player possessing excellent communication and analytic skills with the proven ability to lead a team of business analysts and report developers, partner with business and IT teams to identify reporting and analytical needs of the organization and successfully build data and reporting infrastructure to support the same. The R&A Manager will act as a primary contact for the business stakeholders (eg. Finance, Sales, Product, Ops, Underwriting). Essential Job Functions • Manages team of business analysts and report developers. • Conducts/leads sessions with business groups to understand current business problems and define reporting and analytical needs to create business value. • Partners with Business, Data Management, and Production Support to formulate and implement reporting and other data initiatives. • Partners with Business and Data Management to explore specific solutions and define the scope of the project. • Partners with Data Management (eg. manager, project manager) to ensure that the organization and documentation of business requirements (eg. reporting, data) is completed. • Partners with Data Management (eg. manager, project manager) to ensure that project scope and objectives are well defined based on user needs, data availability and a good understanding of applicable data systems and other business requirements. • Directly responsible for communication/coordination with business (eg. business liaisons) to ensure that its needs are fully understood by the project team. • Directly responsible for reports development process and delivery. • Builds strong partnership with business constituents and IT counterparts to make projects successful and to ensure that expectations are met or surpassed. • Other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands Physical Actions Required job duties are essentially sedentary work consisting of occasional walking standing and lifting and/or carrying 10 lbs. maximum. Required job duties include sedentary work as well as some or all of the following physical activities; lifting and/or carrying 40-lbs (suitcases, projectors, handouts, laptop computer, etc.), seeing, speaking, hearing, and occasional operation of a motor vehicle. Physical Environment Required job duties are normally performed in a climate controlled office environment with occasional job duties performed in company car, airplane, hotels and various physical sites dictated by travel that are not always in a climate controlled environment. Education Requirements • Bachelor degree in relevant area (eg. business, mathematics, computer science, engineering, economics). Experience and Special Skills Requirements Experience Requirements • At least four, typically six years of solid, diverse work experience in IT, Business Intelligence, or other related discipline. . Special Skills Requirements • Ability to interact with senior executives, business and end-users. • Thorough understanding of business drivers, needs, and expectations. • Proven ability to manages diverse teams and multiple projects. • Strong team player with the ability to multitask, excellent communication, organization, and presentation skills. • Strong insurance industry background preferred. • Strong and broad analytical and problem solving skills. (eg. financial analytics, product analytics, actuarial analytics). • Strong business acumen. • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills to be able to communicate complex information to senior management. • Ability to conceptualize business problems, execute solutions, and present findings in a simple manner. • Experience working with Business Objects, Microsoft Analysis Services, Excel, Crystal, SQL, and/or other reporting/data query tools desirable.

At least seven years business planning, marketing, or consulting with Farmers or equivalent external experience.
