Position Summary
The Web Services team is responsible for several external facing web properties within Citrix such as the Knowledge Center.  The Knowledge Center is the primary source of technical product knowledge for Citrix’s base of 200,000 customers, and is a key component in the deployment and support of their Citrix environment. The emergence of Web 2.0 behaviors is changing the way information is distributed, shared, and valued between today’s leading edge companies and their customers, and we need the help of creative and passionate thought leaders to deliver these benefits to our customers and the broader technical community. You will work to ensure the quality of the Knowledge Center and other web sites by creating and executing exhaustive test plans, measuring and benchmarking site performance, and working with the development team to quickly identify and resolve issues. By leveraging your knowledge of web application architectures, you will troubleshoot and pinpoint bugs and performance issues at the application, database, and network layers. You will also create automated test scripts and tools that increase the efficiency of operations, and gather and report on site metrics that identify usage trends, search effectiveness, and usability issues.

Primary Duties / Responsibilities
• Create exhaustive test plans for all software releases, execute plans, and report and track issues through resolution.
• Develop automated test scripts to maximize efficiency.
• Perform load testing and locate performance bottlenecks.
• Respond to support requests from users, and troubleshoot issues through resolution or escalation to the development team.
• Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on features and usability.
• Build, maintain, and support QA lab systems including application servers, database servers, and network infrastructure.
• Create and analyze reports relating to performance benchmarking, test plan status, and site usage statistics.
• Create tools and scripts which help diagnostic capabilities or automate administrative tasks.

Qualifications and Requirements
Qualifications (knowledge, skills, abilities)
• Software QA experience, including creating test plans and automated test suites.
• Proficiency with configuring and administering at least one J2EE application server (Resin, WebSphere, SunOne server, etc.).
• Proficiency administering Microsoft SQL Server (7.0, 2000, or 2005).
• Proficiency administering or supporting a Solaris operating environment and Solaris-based applications.
• Excellent knowledge of Web-based application design, including database access, security, client-side presentation and scripting (HTML, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (Perl, Python, JSP, or related language).
