The Credit & Collections Team Manager is responsible for the collection and collection-related support activities for one or more categories of receivables, which may include Returned Checks, Repossession, Recovery, Liens Not Recorded and/or New Car Receivables.  The position supervises professional level associates.

                                                                                            
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES          
• Manage, lead and develop a team of associates through timely performance feedback delivered during day-to-day observations, periodic file reviews and an annual performance evaluation. The Team Manager is responsible for creating individual development plans and setting business objectives designed to enhance and assist associate growth
• Oversee collection and support activities, including compliance with policies and procedures, analysis & reporting, workload balancing, and review of collection files and attorney correspondence
• Lead and participate in projects with internal and external business partners (stores, home office departments, finance companies and vendors) to support business needs and promote continual process improvement
• Engage with internal and external business partners to resolve collection issues
• Perform and review accounting activities, including approving ACH payments, invoices, Journal Entries and account reconciliations
• Administrative duties and projects as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Four year degree in Accounting and/or Finance; In lieu of degree five years of progressive accounting experience
• One or more years of experience leading teams to achieve common goals, including managing direct and/or indirect reports
• Project management experience is preferred but not required
• Computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office - Excel & Word as well as Access preferred
