Introduction:
ARM Standard Cell group produces the most widely used standard cell libraries in the world. ARM is currently designing and marketing standard cell libraries for leading edge foundries around the globe.

In addition to popular mainstream standard cell architecture, ARM’s products also include standard cells specifically targeted at ultra low power designs, high density, and high performance chipsets. ARM standard cell libraries have been used in circuits running as fast as 1.5GHz and are in production at 180nm to 65nm and development & silicon testing at cutting-edge designs at 40nm & 32nm semiconductor processes for various foundries and IDMs.

ARM’s Design group comprises some of the industry’s leading experts in deep submicron Standard Cell Design and development methodologies. We support and develop various views in the libraries that can be used with leading EDA vendors.

The position of Design Engineer is a rare opportunity for a digital professional to contribute to a successful team with exposure to a wide variety of EDA tools and Engineering challenges.

The candidate’s core responsibility includes:
• Ensuring that the specifications of projects are correct and match actual development
• Working with ARM Design Automation and CAD groups to continually define, improve and develop methods
• Ensuring high quality and effectiveness in using IT and Flow for Automation.
• Planning effective utilization of resources and contractors to best meet the business requirements.
• Working with Project Management to estimate and plan Project development
• Able to manage multiple projects from small to large with help of technical leads
• A line manager with responsibility for a team of design and layout Engineers
• Able to make realistic effort and schedule estimates for small and large platforms
• Demonstrates a top-level understanding of engineering development flows/guidelines and its strengths and weaknesses

Educational Qualification:


  • Graduate from Reputed College OR Institution
  • BSEE OR Equivalent degree
  • MSEE preferred


Essential Technical Skills:

  • 8+ years Standard Cell Design experience
  • Project handling experience with deep submicron technologies (90nm or advanced)
  • Exposure to Simulation and Optimizations
  • Decent knowledge and understanding of Standard Cell layout Architectures and tradeoffs


Desirable Skills:

  • Demonstrates a good awareness of commercial considerations
  • Being able to effectively diffuse complicated situations both internally and with customers.
  • Experience with Hspice OR Spectre simulation


Personal Skills:

  • Strong inter-personal skills
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of initiative and flexibility
  • Willingness and ability to contribute to process improvement initiatives
  • Good communication skills - oral and written
  • Detail-oriented and highly quality conscious
