About MPD
The Media Processing Division (MPD) in ARM has a mission to be at the forefront of advanced graphics and multimedia IP products for mobile phone, mobile computing, consumer entertainment and automotive infotainment markets.

The Role
Reporting to the MPD Director of Business Development and working closely with the MPD Regional BD Lead, the role focuses on the China region and three major activities:
1. supporting sales teams with MPD product sales
2. promoting post-sale use of MPD products
3. internal and external promotion and evangelism

Using strong technical, interpersonal and business skills, the role involves working with MPD marketing, regional sales, segment marketing and FAEs to increase MPD sales and use in China.  It is expected that this role will be of particular interest to senior FAEs, FAE managers or Business Development Managers with a strong technical focus.

Specific responsibilities will include:


  • Working with sales and FAEs on technical and non-technical promotion of MPD products in target customers
  • Ownership of the China short and mid-term forecast for MPD
  • Working with segment marketing, sales and FAEs to identify and develop strategies for key IC design-in opportunities
  • Building, developing and strengthening the relations with strategic OEMs, ecosystem partners and tier one semiconductor vendors in the region
  • Maintaining relationships and support for global OEMs with design activity in the China region
  • Representing MPD and MPD products internally within the regional sales and FAE teams in China
  • Training and ensuring the regional sales teams are up-to-date on the latest products and positioning for MPD products
  • Assist in the development and execution of regional marketing activities such as regional seminars, regional trade events and marcoms
  • Represent the regional activity and needs to MPD Divisional HQ in the UK
  • Identify new market opportunities and develop programmes to successfully enter these markets



Person Specification
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:


  • Great team-work, enabling a positive contribution to the MPD Business Development team
  • Strong technical experience (graphics experience a benefit but not required for the right candidate)
  • Technical sales experience
  • Excellent presentation ability with demonstrable influencing and negotiating skills
  • Self-motivated with an ability to organise and prioritise multiple tasks
  • Leadership skills, and the ability to influence and motivate people
  • A history of successful cross-cultural working
  • Willingness to take ownership of a problem and obtain solutions
  • Fluent in Mandarin as well as excellent spoken and written English language skills


In addition, it is required that the candidate be permanently located in Shanghai or Shenzhen.

Travel Requirements
This is a role that will require interaction with ARM HQ in Europe and our customer base in multiple regions in Asia (although primarily east China), a willingness to travel frequently is required.
Education

  • Undergraduate Degree with a strong technical focus e.g. Computer Science or Electrical and Electronic Engineering
  • Knowledge of graphics and/or video technologies desirable
  • Good understanding of the consumer electronics market, key players and value chain highly desirable
