Purpose This is an exciting opportunity for an ENT SysAdmin to join a global team working in the administration of EDA tool environments, license infrastructure and associated systems to primarily support a newly built datacentre in Austin, Texas. You will be a part of the Engineering IT support team working globally with fellow IT Engineers, all of ARM’s business groups, and EDA partners. Responsibilities
Administer, maintain and support global license servers, to ensure high availability and performance. Test and deploy new FLEXlm releases and updated vendor daemons. Ensure renewed licenses are correctly installed and tested before the window of expiration. Collaborate with members of ARM’s global license support team, EDA vendors and other IT Infrastructure Teams in troubleshooting issues. Liaise with Design Automation teams to provide reliable engineering environments to complex configuration. Gather performance/utilisation metrics to report on current capacity and trends. Monitor performance and health check-up of servers using monitoring tools. Install EDA and Open Source tools globally using ARM’s deployment framework. Build tool configurations with the Modules infrastructure. Ensure high availability tool environments for Engineering workflows and interactive work in HPC environment. Administer, maintain and support AMQP (RabbitMQ) messaging infrastructure. Support in-house tools written in Perl/Tcl/Python and evaluate possibilities for continuous improvement. Document procedures and best practices. Respond to User requests/issues and work with global Support Team to resolve service tickets within ETA.
Essential Experience Solid understanding of FLEXlm, in the context of a large scale HPC data centre. Extensive knowledge of Linux Administration and performance monitoring preferably in Redhat Linux. Experience in EDA tools environment using Module infrastructure. Ability to write scripts and automate processes in Perl, Python, Tk and Shell languages. Experience in building, installing and debugging Open Source Tools. Knowledge in administration of AMQP brokers preferably RabbitMQ . Experience in monitoring tools like Hyperic, Zabbix or Nagios. Excellent communication skills. Desirable Skills Knowledge on IBM LSF Job Scheduler and License Scheduler. Experience on Flexnet Manager/Cognos. Knowledge of non SQL DB platforms like MongoDB. Experience in other Linux based OS, such as Ubuntu. Proxy servers for load balancing and system clustering. Knowledge on NIS/LDAP/NFS . ITIL Foundation V3. Personal Specification Must be able to work well with others in a team, especially when under pressure. Good communication skills with both colleagues and customers.
