Systems and Software Group

This is an opportunity to join a small and successful implementation team within the Systems and Software group as a graduate engineer. The team works closely with system level soft IP developers providing implementation and silicon tape outs of chips that will be used as software development platforms.

The implementation team’s work, on high performance System On Chip (SOC) devices, will use the latest leading edge foundry processes. With this role comes the responsibility to share and collaborate with team members and colleagues across the world. You will have access to leading design tools and develop skills in all aspects of implementation including synthesis, place and route, timing analysis, power analysis and physical verification.

As your career develops you will have the opportunity to influence process, physical libraries and RTL development to ensure ARM provides leading edge IP.

Responsibilities
• physical design and implementation
• investigation of the tradeoffs involved in CPU implementation
• develop and deploy new methodologies to improve efficiency of implementation
• realising R&D concepts



Education
• qualified candidates will have a university degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or other relevant technical discipline.

Person
• excellent communication skills: listening, understanding, persuading
• the ability to effectively work alone as well as in a team
• good analytical skills along with the ability to “think out of the box”
• knowledge of Unix, Perl, Tcl and VHDL/Verilog would be useful
