Introduction

This position will be based at ARM’s fast-growing design center in Hsinchu, Taiwan and it requires working across ARM’s Processor Division and Services Division to provide SoC implementation support and education to our partners in APAC.
The Processor Division within ARM develops high performance CPU cores that lie at the heart of many of today’s digital devices. The ARM Services Division is responsible for “after-sales care” of ARM’s global customer base. This includes partner training, documentation, support, maintenance and consultancy.

Job Purpose

We are looking for SoC implementation experts to work closely with our internal teams and external customers to generate and share knowledge on how to use our processor and systems IP solutions to enable high performance and low power SoC implementations. You will be working closely with the engineering team and the ARM technical support team to generate optimized implementation methodologies. You will then be expected to deploy this knowledge to our lead partners to ensure that they achieve high quality results whilst reducing their time to market.


Key Accountabilities


  • Work with ARM CPU implementation and Compute Subsystem teams to understand the challenges of IP implementations across a range of products and processes
  • Provide feedback to the IP design teams on potential product improvements & enhancements
  • Participate in big-LITTLE™ technology implementation projects and enablement activities
  • Work with our Services Division to ensure that quality support and training is being deployed to the satisfaction of our lead partners
  • Prepare and maintain material for lead partner support including training materials, white papers and application notes
  • Work directly with lead partners delivering training, support and hands-on implementation assistance to ensure that their goals are achieved.



Education & Qualifications
Qualified candidates will have a good university degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or other relevant technical discipline.

Essential Technical / Professional Skills


  • 7-10 years of high performance, low power physical implementation experience on advanced process nodes, ideally using ARM processor cores
  • Detailed knowledge of all parts of the physical design flow including synthesis, place & route, power analysis, static timing analysis and physical sign-off
  • Understanding of physical library design and process technology
  • Knowledge of low power implementation methodologies
  • Understanding of physical implementation quality metrics and how to trade-off to achieve required results
  • Experience of working closely with customers, providing technical support and training
  • Ability to think under pressure, especially in front of customers and to provide logical and accurate problem analysis
  • Good spoken and written English


Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Exposure to multiple EDA tool vendor design flows
  • Knowledge of ARM technology, culture and the business model
  • Understanding of ARM system architectures and end market applications
  • Knowledge and experience in working with ARM big-LITTLE™ technology.

Other Desirable Skills (Optional)
ARM accredited engineer (AAE) is a plus.
