The Field Application Engineer (FAE) is an integral part of the Korea sales force, reports to the Korea FAE manager and works as a part of APAC FAE team. The primary responsibility is to coordinate all of technical pre-sales and design-in activities in Samsung account including Samsung oversea RnD centers, the FAE will be closely working with Samsung account team to develop and carry out technical pre-sales and design-in strategies on Samsung account.
Acting as a technical account manager, the FAE is also responsible for monitoring and coordinating the post-sales support to his/her customers as directed by the FAE manager.
It is important that the FAE develops sound professional relationships with the key engineers, architects, and decision-makers at his/her customers both internally and externally. It is also important that the FAE can create, report, and execute on key account strategies aimed at growing the business within these customers.
The FAE will also participate in developing solution or services for Samsung account and will be involved in supporting ARM Korea and partner events. The FAE is basically expected to maintain a high standard of technical knowledge in relation to our products, services, and competitors.

Critical Success Factors


  • Full understanding of customer business and technical development plans
  • Sound personal relationships with key technical decision-makers at customers and a good understanding of commercial relationships
  • Strong coordination and communication with internal colleagues to satisfy customer requirements
  • Wide and high level knowledge of semiconductor, development process, and supply chain
  • Development of strong relationships with assigned Sales Managers as well as Marketing and Engineering teams
  • Ability to identify customer requirements and effectively feed such information back to ARM colleagues and divisions


Key Responsibilities

  • Creates, reports and executes according to Samsung account strategies aimed at growing ARM’s business
  • Responsible for coordinating technical pre-sales and design-in activities in Samsung account, with product FAEs
  • Supports for establishing and executing the management plan of Samsung oversea RnD centers for Samsung account manager
  • Manages key post-sales supports provided by the Applications Engineering team
  • Responsible for making appropriate product recommendations to fit with customer requirements
  • Identifies potential sales opportunities
  • Generally maintains a high standard of technical knowledge in relation to ARM and its products, services and competitors
  • Develops sound professional relationships with key engineers, architects and decision-makers in Samsung account



Technical Skills


  • BS Computer Engineering, Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. Master’s degree is a plus
  • 7+ years experience in SoC design, SoC-based system or relevant developments
  • Experience of supporting SoC design, SoC-based system or relevant developments
  • Understanding of the hardware and software design process
  • Understanding of ARM technologies
  • Wide level of knowledge of ARM products and semiconductor development flow

    • Previous customer-facing experience like FAE or customer interaction experience is a plus

    ARM accredited engineer (AAE) is a plus.
