The Processor Division (PD) at ARM develops processor and fabric IP spanning a range of performance points while offering industry leading features within highly competitive power and area footprints. ARM’s comprehensive processor product offering includes RISC CPUs, graphics processors (GPUs) and video processors (VPUs), enabling software, cell libraries, embedded memories, high-speed connectivity products, peripherals and development tools.The Processor Division development work involves hardware Design and Verification from component to platform level; Architectural Validation for architectural compliance; Software for verification, performance and power benchmarking, BSP’s, Tools; physical implementation from component to SoC level.

Job Purpose

The successful candidate will be the leading architecture expert within the architecture validation team. As a senior member of the team, the job holder will have the authority to heavily influence validation strategy within all parts of ARM.

Key responsibilities



  • Advise on the validation implications of proposed architectural features
  • Plan architecture validation strategies for features in the ARM architecture that are under  development leading to strategies that can be deployed across the ARM partnership
  • To help co-ordinate the development of validation materials in various sites within ARM worldwide to ensure world-class architecture validation solutions are available
  • To advise the architecture validation development teams within ARM, currently centered in Bangalore, as to ensure efficient, high performance and scalable validation solutions
  • Represent the ARM validation expertise to validation leaders within the ARM partnership


Education & Qualifications


  • Good university degree, ideally in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication or Computer science, although other graduates would be considered if they have relevant experience.



Essential Skills & Experience



  • 15+ years relevant technical  experience
  • In depth understanding of microprocessor architecture
  • Can lead and motivate technical teams across organisations and geographies
  • Hands on experience leading validation within a processor development environment
  • Able to understand and derive complex technical specifications
  • Willingness to travel widely to meet and communicate with teams distributed worldwide
