ARM designs the technology that lies at the heart of advanced digital products, from wireless, networking and consumer entertainment solutions to imaging, automotive, security and storage devices.

The Processor Division in ARM produces hardware products and has strong supporting work on tools and software.  This role focuses on physical implementation project management within the Division.

Job Purpose
The Project Manager works closely with the Engineering Manager, Product Manager, Technical Leads and engineering team and manages engineering projects from conception through to final delivery to ensure quality, on-spec, on-time delivery of products.  Responsibilities include planning, scheduling, issue/risk management, driving and monitoring the project as well as management of project stakeholders and dependencies and communication to, and liaising with external partners.
The role will normally involve managing multiple physical implementation projects producing test chips or hard macros. There will be close links with teams in US, UK, Europe and India, requiring regular communication and occasional travel.



Essential Skills & Experience
• Engineering degree or equivalent
• Proven ability to lead, monitor and motivate a team
• Experience of applying project management in a rapidly changing hardware development environment
• Demonstrated ability in building plans from a high level to a detailed schedule
• Experience in IC physical implementation development
• Experience liaising with customers, partners and remote development teams
• Clear understanding of, and ability to apply the concepts of risk management
• Able to manage stakeholders through personal leadership and clear project goals
• First class communications skills, both written and verbal
• Self motivated, looking to accept new challenges
• Professional attitude, with strong attention to detail
• Pro-active and pragmatic with regards to problem solving


Desirable Skills & Experience
• Formal project management qualification (e.g. PMP)
• Familiar with project scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project
• Comfortable with configuration methods, versioning and documentation tools
• Understanding of a range of hardware and software development lifecycle methods (e.g., waterfall, iterative, agile)
