The Media Processing Division produces Graphics hardware and software products for mobile and embedded devices.
Our Mali Graphics and Video Processors have an advanced, highly programmable architecture for accelerating video, 2D and 3D graphics, specifically tuned for high performance and energy efficiency. Our team has successfully delivered world-leading multimedia products, for example our flagship Mali-T604 multi-core GPU which sets a new standard for graphics and compute performance.
Our division is located at multiple design centers around the globe. The team in Shanghai is already hard at work using the next generation of Mali Graphics processors, but we need more first-class engineers to join us pushing the frontiers of technology.

Our Team

We're a team of engineers working with developers who are using Mali GPUs.

We're looking for a bright and enthusiastic software developer to help us in a wide variety of tasks including optimization of applications on our GPU and bringing up the latest development platforms.


Accountabilities / Responsibilities


  • Working with partners and customers to help them solve their problems.
  • Creating simple examples using OpenGL ES and OpenCL etc. to help educate developers.
  • Working with cutting edge hardware, building and flashing new OS images.
  • Writing and maintaining documentation.
  • Working with latest cutting-edge GPU APIs.
  • Performance analysis of partner applications including games, UI, etc.
  • Maintaining knowledge of mobile GPU architectures as they advance.
  • Visiting partners or representing ARM at international conferences and tradeshows.




Essential Technical / Professional Skills


  • A good degree in a scientific discipline preferably Computer Science.
  • Experience with Linux or Android development platforms.
  • Experience with C, C++ and Java across Linux and Windows and an understanding of how to write portable software.
  • Understanding performance bottlenecks in mobile systems.
  • Knowledge of Khronos standards such as OpenGL ES and OpenCL.
  • Experience with version control systems and issue tracking (git and JIRA).
  • Excellent spoken and written English skills.
  • Problem solving skills in challenging circumstances.


It would be even better if you have experience in any of the following:

  • Embedded systems (especially if they are ARM systems).
  • Linux internals and device drivers.
  • An ability to pick up new technologies quickly.
  • Experience with scripting languages, e.g. Bash.
  • Customer support.
  • Team management and leadership.


Other Desirable Skills


ARM accredited engineer (AAE) is a plus.
