Introduction

The Senior Project Manager role will report to the Program Manager, and manage Fabric IP and Implementation projects within the Sheffield Design Centre.   The Sheffield Design centre is located at the gateway of the world renowned Peak District: the home of the UK outdoor adventure scene and a spectacular landscape, in one of the most beautiful and inspiring parts of the British Isles.

Job Purpose
This role is for a highly experienced and motivated Project Manager who will be based in ARM’s Sheffield Design Centre, within the Processor Division and will be expected to work collaboratively with Engineering Management to ensure we achieve on-time delivery of our Fabric IP and implementation projects. The individual should be capable of working very closely with the Engineering Manager who will share responsibility to manage and deliver the collection of projects that the Sheffield Design Centre is accountable for in terms of performance, cost, quality and on-time delivery.

This individual should have a proven track record of project management across all aspects of the engineering development lifecycle.

Responsibilities include planning, scheduling, tracking/monitoring, resource allocation, issue/risk management, driving the teams and executing the program of projects against committed milestones, as well as management of project stakeholders and dependencies and communication to internal stakeholders and where needed, external partners.

This role requires a minimal level of travel to work across ARM sites and with ARM Partners.



Education & Qualifications
A university degree (or equivalent) in either Engineering or Computer Science is desired, although other degrees would be considered if there is relevant experience.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Significant experience in Project/ Program Management using leading methodologies and processes.
  • A proven track record in the management of large multi-disciplinary projects showing successful delivery of high value, complex programs.
  • Experience of managing multiple projects simultaneously, and multiple Project Managers, across high profile and technologically innovative development projects.
  • A solid grounding in earned value techniques and risk mitigation
  • Established manager, with track record of implementing change.
  • The ability to track, monitor and motivate project teams.
  • Demonstrates understanding of planning, both top down and bottoms up, scheduling, risk management, budgetary control and resource allocation procedures.
  • Experience or understanding of hardware development practices and project management in a hardware development environment


Desirable Skills & Experience
  • Familiarity with ARM products and the ecosystem in which ARM operates
  • Development lifecycles for silicon or IP development
  • Experienced in various Project planning tools such as MS Project
  • Project Management qualification (e.g. PMP)
  • Pro-active and pragmatic with regards to problem solving
  • Professional attitude, with strong attention to detail
  • Process oriented and highly organised
  • Self-motivated, able to accept new challenges and motivate others.
  • Flair for lateral thinking and proactive problem solving
