Qualifications BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Graduate of an accredited school of NursingCurrent RN license to practice in the state of TexasCurrent BCLS/CPR for Healthcare ProvidersACLS - or obtain within one year of hireICU or Step-down experience preferredMinimum three (3) years of current RN experience in acute care setting requiredHarris Continued Care (HCCH) patients have complex needs requiring intensive nursing care such as ventilator weaning, multisystem failure, multiple trauma care,complex wound care and telemetryThere is a low nurse-to-patient ratio due to the complexity of these patients
Duties Hours/Schedule: 6:30 am - 7:00 pm; (3) - 12 hour shifts, every other weekendPractices within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act. Serves as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient care.Duties: Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process• assesses the patient• plans the care of the patient• intervenes as appropriate• evaluates the effectiveness of interventions • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care. • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfersMaintains professional accountability Maintains and enhances nursing skillsServes as patient advocateCommunicates per department expectationsProvides for patient privacy and dignityAdapts to changes in workload assignment functioning as Resource/Charge Nurse as neededAt Texas Health Specialty Hospital we put a lot of value in time.
