Qualifications
Texas Health Organization for Physicians (THOP) has an immediate need for a payroll specialist. This new position will have complete responsibility for producing payroll for THOP employees, maintaining records as required by state, federal and system guidelines. The qualified candidate will have the following experience.
High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelors degree in accounting, math or related field preferred
3 years experience producing payroll for 150+ employees
Duties
Accurate and timely processing of payroll, bonus and special checks/direct deposits for THPG and THM employees. (Approx 200 at current; expected to grow to 300 by end of 2010.) Research and resolve employee questions regarding payroll, PTO or federal or state deductions, working closely with representatives of Accounting, Human Resources or Departmental Management. Calculate and prepare payroll adjustments accordingly. Process IRS or court orders to include child support, garnishments, tax levies, bankruptcy and student loan garnishments within state or federal guidelines. Monitor physician practice contracts regarding expiration dates and provider compensation. Maintain confidentiality of all payroll, compensation and contract information accordingly
Assists in orientation and training of employees regarding pay policies and time clock usage. Train departmental timekeepers in the use of ClairVia and PeopleSoft systems as needed
Monitor bi-weekly time and attendance reporting to assist timekeepers. Research and resolve problems regarding timekeeping or time clock maintenance issues
