Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

*High school diploma or equivalent
*Minimum of 5 years experience in a hospital or high-rise building environment
*Have good interpersonal skills and judgment.
*Have a solid knowledge of equipment and systems.
*Have the ability to make independent decisions when required and be sensitive to the views of others.  
*A high degree of mechanical aptitude and a thorough understanding of electricity, its distribution, uses and dangers is essential
*Verbal and written communication skills are necessary
*Must also have ability to perform duties of the General Maintenance Mechanic and the *Maintenance Specialist, with little or no supervision
Requires ability to travel, climb stairs and ladders to access equipment; pushing,pulling,lifting,stretching,reaching,bending,kneeling,crouching,stooping and standing in difficult positions in crowded quarters to make inspections and observed equipment and dials
*Requires the ability to read blue prints                 


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

*Factory training plus field experience is desirable
*Experience in the Construction industry is beneficial in interfacing with contractors and tenants when assisting in project management and oversight.

Duties
*Performs major repairs on machinery and to the facility including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry and mechanical equipment.
*Examine mechanical equipment with ability to diagnose problem
*Performs required preventative maintenance to equipment including equipment tear down and overhaul to meet manufacturer specs with little supervision
*Responsible for building maintenance projects including but not limited to HVAC, electrical, construction, plant maintenance and painting.
*Performs maintenance, repair or replacement of broken/malfunctioning parts in accordance with normal industry standards.
*Perform daily maintenance work orders as assigned
*Provide assistance to less experienced/qualified employees in all areas of building maintenance.
